BRIDGE project partners on the Copernicus Trail and the Gothic Castles Trail
The next and final meeting of the BRIDGE project partners took place in Poland from April 14-17, 2026.
On the first day, the BRIDGE project partners met in Gdańsk, at the headquarters of their associated partner, the Pomeranian Voivodeship Government (Pomorskie). Representatives from the culture, education, and tourism sectors from Poland, Lithuania, and Sweden participated in the event. It was a time of inspiring discussions and exchange of experiences, including historical education for children and youth, the promotion of local heritage, and activities based on the cultural, natural, and tourism potential of the partner regions.
In the following days guests visited selected locations on the tourist trails of Warmia and Mazury and Pomerania, providing an opportunity for the Lithuanian and Swedish partners to learn more about the educational, cultural, and tourist offerings of both regions, encompassing both traditional forms of sightseeing and modern solutions using digital technologies.
In Warmia and Mazury, participants visited the Archaeological Museum in Elbląg, where they had the opportunity to take a virtual tour of the streets of Elbląg in the early 20th century using VR technology and computer reconstructions. In Frombork, they visited the Holy Spirit Hospital in Frombork (Department of the History of Medicine of the Nicolaus Copernicus Museum) and Cathedral Hill, where they had the opportunity to attend an organ concert within the Gothic walls of the Cathedral. In the Pomeranian region, guests visited Sztum Castle and the „Miłosna” Recreation and Leisure Area in Kwidzyn, a place combining the passion and experience of local communities with great potential for the development of active tourism. The tour also included the Cathedral and Castle Complex in Kwidzyn, and the Castle in Gniew, a majestic fortress situated on a hill, which a guided tour of was an exceptionally beautiful experience. The whole experience was rounded off by a walk through the city of Gdańsk.
The next stage of the project will be visits by young bloggers on the described trails. We expect the results of their visits in the second half of this year.
